I have family in America and we visited twice, in 2023 and last year, before the election. Since then, I have become increasingly repelled by the arbitrary, often violent behaviour of the US government and its officers and by the bigotry and racism that is officially facilitated. I’d put the USA on the same level as places like the Russian Federation. No go area.
Most decent people don’t approve of a known pedophile who raped girls as young as 13. Pedophiles belong in prison, and he is also a convicted felon and convicted rapist. He’s an awful person. Wields his power to punish his opponents. Punished whole countries who won’t allow him to extort or coerce them. I could go on and on. He loves to make people suffer. The old expression you are known by the company you keep comes to mind. Who wants to be among people who love and support a pedophile and a rapist. I mean, really. Plenty of other wonderful countries to spend our vacation money in.
Doesn’t matter how many citizens hate trump the damage has been done. Trust has been stabbed in the guts and lays dying in the gutter. No mor travel to the USA for many of us.
