But during the previous shutdown that Trump instigated, he openly admitted that the shutdown was his fault, when Chuck Schumer confronted him.
Republicans call Democrats “the party of big government” and “the deep state.”
For decades, Republicans have been claiming that the federal government is the enemy.
In 1986, Ronald Reagan said: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”
For decades, Republicans have been openly bragging about wanting to destroy the federal government and cripple it to the point where it can no longer provide help to people in need.
“I don’t want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub.”
The whole purpose of government is to protect the weak from the rich. To make sure the rich don’t eat the poor, the way they used to in the Stone Age, or medieval Europe, when there was no government and no laws stopping the rich from robbing the weak.
Rich robber barons hate it when the government stops them from exploiting the poor. It cuts into their profits.
Trump and his robber baron accomplices have been mass-firing government workers and destroying entire government departments, to dismantle the government from the inside.
And now Trump is trying to make his brainwashed MAGA cult believe that it’s the Democrats who want to shut down the government.
A few months before the 2024 election, Steve Bannon said: “Project 2025 is the deconstruction of the US government. Millions of MAGA loyalists are getting trained up to take over the federal government and give Trump total control!”
One of the Project 2025 planners says: “We’ll stack Trump’s next administration with people who will do his bidding. We’ll give Trump total, unchecked power!”
A democratic government gets in the way of dictator Trump’s total unchecked power.
Fascists like Putin, Trump, and their MAGA Nazis hate democracy, because they feel they’re entitled to rule, but democracy keeps getting in the way.
And that’s why Orange Hitler and his Nazi minions are trying to destroy democracy by destroying the government.
That’s what the shutdown is really about. Turning American democracy into a Trump dictatorship.
Dictator Trump says: “I don’t think we’re gonna ask [Congress] for a declaration of war. I think we’re just gonna kill people. Okay? We’re gonna kill them. They’re gonna be, like, dead.”
