In his speech introducing his bill, Senator Moreno said you cannot be a dual citizen and support the U.S. “Being an American citizen is an honor and a privilege — and if you want to be an American, it’s all or nothing. It’s time to end dual citizenship for good."
I would love to ask him why he thinks he is more patriotic than someone born in the US, who served an an officer in the US military for 20 years and then practiced law for 10 years. Makes my blood boil.
According to his very brief official biography (which lists no educational achievements, military, or any kind of public service), it seems the Senator is nothing more than a jumped up car salesman who somehow became a car dealership mogol in Ohio, and who got rich on blockchain starting in 2016. Doesn't appear that he was willing to serve in the military to demonstrate his beliefs or patriotism. And since I and all other retired military officers are subject to recall to active duty regardless of age (that's why it's called retired pay -- it's not a pension) we have and continue to demonstrate our allegiance to and support of the US regardless of where we are currently living by accepting that retired pay. He certainly has never donned a uniform (otherwise it would be mentioned in his bio) and shown he was willing to give his life to defend the US.
So, as our British cousins would say to the good Senator, "bugger off!"
One has to wonder what the next steps could possibly be. American citizens not being permitted to leave the U.S. except with written permission, and under emergency circumstances? And what will occur when those same citizens want to return to their country without being terrorized by ICE and Secretary Puppy Killer?
I am aware that I may be expressing these questions in a catastrophic manner. But after all that has happened in 2025, what if I’m not completely wrong?
And vote a straight ticket Blue from School Board and Dog Catcher to Representative to Senator to President! We need to shed every one of these Fascist Republicans! They have devolved as a Party into an Anti-American Danger to our very Constitution and Freedoms!
