That said, I do think we should give space for those who decide to get out of the far right cult, so long as they're willing to do work to make up for the wrongs they've caused or enabled.

We can be bitter assholes and say “it serves you right.” Or we can try and open up a dialogue and show them that there is a better path that includes them. Trump has told them that Democrats, liberals are out to get them, I don’t know if you’ve listen to his rallies and the lies he spews but he scared them. He was their buddy, he’d protect them.
So now when they’ve finally seen his true colors we have a choice. We can blow them off and do what Trump wants us to do, or we can have some humanity and forgiveness and actually have a dialogue. Because I can guarantee when Trump is out, there’s a line behind him waiting to take his place.
