We Germans have been trying to warn America since 2016 that Trump is a Nazi. It was pretty fucking obvious from day one, when you know what to look for.
When he came down that escalator and accused Mexican immigrants of being rapists and murderers, that was typical fascist propaganda. All Nazis love to demonize immigrants. It’s their thing.
How do you know if someone is a vegetarian? When he says “Hi, I’m a vegetarian.”
How do you know someone is a Nazi? When he says “Immigrants are rapists and murderers.”
Nazis demonize minorities, to incite hate and violence. That’s what Nazis do. That’s how Hitler turned ordinary Germans into bloodthirsty Nazis. He radicalized them by filling their heads with hateful lies.
Trump’s Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden was quintessential fascism. If Hitler was alive today, he would sound exactly like Trump. If Hitler held a Nazi rally today, it would look and sound like a Trump rally.
The German Nazis didn’t just decide one day, out of the blue, to kill 6 million Jews. Before they did that, Hitler spent years radicalizing them, by filling their heads with hateful lies about Jews. Then, finally, words were followed by actions.
Trump is filling the heads of his MAGA Nazis with hateful lies about Democrats, liberals, Muslims, gay people, and immigrants.
He’s feeding the hate every day. He’s making the hate fester in the hearts and minds of his Nazi cult. He wants to make their blood boil and trigger blind murderous rage.
The next step will be violence.
That’s the whole point of radicalizing people with hateful lies: To bring them to the point where they believe violence is not only justified, but the only option. To bring them to the point where violence against their “enemies” feels good, feels right.
And that’s how you get a Holocaust.
Every genocide starts with a single lie that snowballs into an orgy of violence.
MAGA Nazis have been saying for years that “the storm is coming.” By storm they mean violence.
All this time they have been talking about mass-murdering Democrats. That’s what they mean by “the storm.” That’s why they’ve been hoarding guns and ammo for years.
One of the greatest mistakes in US history was to allow Trump to radicalize millions of far-right Americans with blatant Nazi propaganda, and to broadcast his incendiary propaganda lies on every channel every day for years.
People are laughing about the absurd lies Trump and his MAGA Nazis were spreading at his Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden, because they don’t understand what they were looking at.
Trump knows that all that hate and racism won’t attract new voters. But that’s not the point. The point was to radicalize his most radical followers even further. To prime them for the next step: committing violence on his behalf.
When Trump loses the election, he will claim he won. He’ll blatantly lie again, just like he did in 2020. And he will use this Big Lie 2.0 to start a civil war.
His most radicalized MAGA Nazis will believe him, like they believe every lie he has ever told them. Then he’ll tell them to fight for him. And they will.
12 million Americans believe violence is justified to restore Trump to power.
How do I know?
Because that’s what always happens when you spend several years using Nazi propaganda to make people’s blood boil. You don’t go through all that trouble unless you plan to turn the hate into violence at some point.
Trump is priming them. Stoking their hate, feeding their rage, so that he can trigger an orgy of violence when the time is right.

I agree that the dimwitted, ignorant would be tyrant has all the hallmarks of fascism - cultish followers, authoritarian personality, contempt for the rule of law and, above all, demonisation of the “other”. But I cannot escape the notion Marx put on my head. History repeats itself. The first time as tragedy. The second time as farce. I know you’d say he’s deadly dangerous but he couldn’t organise a county fair. An insurrection will descend into chaos.
The difference this time is that his sworn enemy holds the power. I think he should and will order Trump arrested and shipped to Guantanamo and then fight out the habeus corpus writ for weeks. After all Biden has blanket immunity for official acts.
Trump’s racism and xenophobia are on full display. That’s what MAGA loves about him. That’s why his base is so steadfast.
